🎵 We're on the road to nowhere... 🎵 But who could be lurking past that next bush?!?! Showing here is a fabulous mid-19th century (1850) watercolour by John Frederick Lewis, who was a British artist and liked, amongst other things, to paint oriental scenes.
It's a family affair! This watercolour, circa 1900, is of Rouen. The artist is C.J. Keats, the gifted son of John Keats, the romantic poet. Perhaps John was thinking of this watercolour when he said: 'A thing of beauty is a joy for ever: Its loveliness increases; it will never Pass into nothingness;'
Wonderful walnut - what is not to love?! Forget Midas, bring on the walnut makers and cherish every piece ever made!! The Victorian walnut table (circa. 1860) in this scene was once part of a @harrods shop window display in the mid-20th century.

In normal times, we would be enjoying #awinterstale at @thersc today - but in the meantime, here’s some classical inspiration! Some of the items highlighted are a Venetian ceiling panel, mahogany easel, a Schafer oil on canvas and the dying Gaul.
I would like to share this scene today, it's called, 'Preparing to Pen the Novel'. It is showing, amongst other things, a magnificant Edwardian desk, Victorian davenport and Whatnot canterbury. Also featured are a spiderweb-back chair and a Joseph Thors oil on canvas.
Having got some spare time on my hands, I’ve been creating some furniture scenes. This one is called, ‘Cotman’s Corner’. It features an oil on canvas by G.F. Cotman, a Victorian chest, window seat and fire screen. Also, an Edwardian quartetto and a William and Mary style chair, with footstool.
