Anne was born in the Borders of Scotland, educated in Edinburgh and graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1956, at the time when Sir William Grillies was head of painting. She was able to combine her extraordinary talent for painting with her delight in flowers of all descriptions. The resulting paintings are some of the most interesting yet lively floral studies of contemporary times.
